Pop-up farmers market this Sunday at Union Market

Grow On! Garden Markets will be hosting a pop-up farmers market this Sunday, May 15th from noon-3:00 PM at Union Market.

Grow On! Garden Markets is a community garden based at Fairfield Middle School. The garden hosts an intern program for the students from Fairfield MS and other schools in the county to learn about food scarcity, urban agriculture, finance, and customer service. The students run the farmers markets they host, and families from the community have weekly access plants, vegetables, and fruits. This is a program the students have to apply for, and work 8-10 weeks during the summer to train.

Right now the students running the garden have a large excess of flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables currently in transplant – and they need to sell them to pay for more equipment and fund internship program.
