Volunteers needed for Citadel of Hope window murals project:
Art on Wheels is partnering with Better Housing Coalition and artist group “The Muralista’s” to revitalize the former Citadel of Hope building on Venable Street and the surrounding parcels of land which have been neglected for decades and a source of neighborhood blight. To honor the neighbors and the vibrancy of Church Hill, we are creating a large-scale mural project on the building’s shuttered windows. The murals will reflect the character and vibe of Richmond and the Church Hill neighborhood while depicting the factors that make a community a great place to live. They will beautify the building until its rehabilitation. Volunteers will help paint the murals. Parking is on the street. Wear clothes you can paint in. Bring water and smiling faces.

What a great and unique idea. This will help the building to look passable until BHC gets ready to spiffy it up
