Woman shot to death on 29th Street

From the RPD:

Richmond Police detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred last night in the east end of the city.

At approximately 10:53 p.m., Thursday, March 24, RPD officers were called to the 1800 block of North 29th Street for a report of a shooting. Inside a residence near the intersection of North 29th and Y Streets they found a woman who had been shot.

She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead at 11:42 p.m.

Her identity will be released once next of kin have been notified.

This marks the 5th killing in the East End in 2016, and the 15th for Richmond as a whole.

Per the RPD: Kemberly A. M. Williams, 49, of the 1800 block of North 29th Street was shot shortly before 11:00 p.m., yesterday, inside another residence in the 1800 block of North 29th Street. The shot was fired from outside the residence.

I’m so sad to hear this. Kem was my neighbor for five years. She was a warm, fun loving person and loved her dog, Bizzy. My deepest condolences to her family.

Kemberly was a long time Church Hill resident. She was friendly and funny and kind. She most definitely loved her dog and he loved her. I really hope that RPD can find out who did this to her.
