Victim identified in 29th Street homicide

The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim from last night’s homicide as Thomas Jones, 54, of the 1300 block of North 29th Street.

At approximately 8:19 p.m., officers were called to 1307 N. 29th St. for a report of a person down. Officers arrived and found Jones inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Detectives are investigating. No signs of forced entry were apparent.
