Church Hill Walking Tour

Church Hill is the oldest neighborhood in Richmond. You will meander through streets lined with beautiful late 18th and 19th century architecture; see St. John’s Episcopal Church where Patrick Henry proclaimed “Give me liberty, or give me death!” in 1775; and view stunning vistas of the City of Richmond. You will also hear about the eccentric cast of characters who make up the fabric of Colonial, Federal, and antebellum Richmond.

The tour lasts approximately 1.5 – 2 hours. It meets in front of St. Johns Church on 25th& Broad St. No need to reserve a spot, just show up!

$20/adults; $15/Seniors/Students; $5 for teens (12-17);$0 for kids

City Council Formal Meeting

Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

Discover Cohousing

Future residents of five cohousing neighborhoods, located throughout Virginia, are sponsoring a public presentation on the growing cohousing trend taking root across the region and the country. We will discuss the common characteristics of cohousing, often called “old-fashioned neighborhoods of the future”, and explore what makes each community unique.

This free two-hour event will take place at Art Works (320 Hull St.) in Richmond. Come learn about this new approach to create vibrant and sustainable neighborhoods and discover how you can become involved. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided.
