Church Hill Walking Tour

Church Hill is the oldest neighborhood in Richmond. You will meander through streets lined with beautiful late 18th and 19th century architecture; see St. John’s Episcopal Church where Patrick Henry proclaimed “Give me liberty, or give me death!” in 1775; and view stunning vistas of the City of Richmond. You will also hear about the eccentric cast of characters who make up the fabric of Colonial, Federal, and antebellum Richmond.

The tour lasts approximately 1.5 – 2 hours. It meets in front of St. Johns Church on 25th& Broad St. No need to reserve a spot, just show up!

$20/adults; $15/Seniors/Students; $5 for teens (12-17);$0 for kids

Community Conversation on Lumpkin’s Jail memorial

With a stadium apparently off the table for Shockoe, Mayor Jones is pushing to memorialize Lumpkin’s Jail and is seeking community input. Two dates for a community conversation on the Lumpkin’s Jail site have been announced, with the first on Thursday, September 10 at 6PM at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. The meeting is sponsored by Mayor Jones, Delegate Delores McQuinn, and the Richmond Slave Trail Commission.
