Sunset YogaHike will explore the neighborhood, end with yoga at Libby Hill

Sunset YogaHike will explore the neighborhood, end with yoga at Libby Hill:

Sunset YogaHikes are one of our most popular events! This time we are feeling the sunset from atop Libby Hill Park in Church Hill. The hiking element will be more urban than usual as you explore historical Chimborazo Park, the Church Hill neighborhood, and St. John’s Church (the site of Patrick Henry’s Give Me Liberty or Give me Death speech). For the super adventurous among you, you will have the opportunity to venture into the dense brush at the bottom of Church Hill and see the western end of the Church Hill Tunnel that collapsed back in 1925 (with train cars and bodies still inside!). PLEASE NOTE: This optional trek is a short distance but it is down (and back up) a very steep hill that is laden with broken glass and poison ivy. Is it worth it to see the tunnel? I think so. However, you should be aware of the conditions you will need to surmount if you choose to go see this unique piece of Richmond history. Please wear appropriate shoes and have your ankles covered if you choose to go on this portion of the hike.

Your super-fun and informative hiking exploration will be followed by an inspirational vinyasa flow yoga practice led by the lovely Becky Eschendoeder atop Libby Hill. While practicing you will witness a magnificent view of the setting sun, cuing us to rest our turn as the other side of the world wakes up to start their day.

And the world keeps on turning….
