A reader asks:
Saw a car at corner of M & 30th that was clearly hit by another vehicle. The owner stated there was a car chase through that area and they slammed into her car, rendering it useless.
Any other word on this event from police or neighbors?

29th was closed with significant police activity and road closure on 29th between M and Leigh at around 11 pm last night. Any information on what was happening on 29th? Or if it was related to the car chase and smashed cars on 30th?
Lots of info here, as the car landed up against my steps. Police were on the scene in less than a minute bc they’d been following the speeder (had seen him “catch air” at one point). He scrambled out of the vehicle in my front yard and hopped my neighbors 6-ft fence as I watched. Police chased on foot and he was apprehended in the next block. Several cars in this block of 30th were damaged – one wound up perpendicular to the street with its trunk popped open from the force of impact.

Just heard the car was stolen. Dunno for sure though. I could have imagined as much. Since it’s doubtful there’s enough damage to my retaining wall and porch railings to exceed my deductible, I’ll be looking for masonry repair…. Any suggestions?
