CAR to consider multi-family on 26th, single family houses, and Bilder project on 24th

The agenda for Tuesday, July 28, 2015 meeting of the Commission of Architectural Review includes a number of local projects:

  • 2502 E. Grace Street – Replace front concrete steps with wood as part of repairs to the front facade, replace wall of rear shed, and install rear gate
  • 2811 E. Marshall Street – Replace existing 1/1 window with transom window on the rear elevation
  • 723 N. 22nd Street – Demolish an existing garage and construct a new two story garage
  • 603-603 1/2 N. 21st Street – Construct a new single-family house
  • 511-511 1/2 N. 26th Street – Construct a new 4-unit multi-family dwelling
  • 3100 E. Marshall Street – Rehabilitation of outbuilding to include new windows, doors, lighting, and HVAC
  • 3607 E. Broad Street – Construct a new single-family house
  • 726 N. 27th Street – Enclose existing side and rear porches and construct a new rear screened porch and garage
  • 2601 E. Grace Street – Construct a new storage shed to be screened by lattice
  • 601-601 1/2 N. 23rd Street – Revise previously-approved plans for the construction of two attached single-family houses
  • 2401 E. Marshall Street / 313 N. 24th Street – Construct a new mixed use building and an addition to an existing structure

Good gosh the proposed plan for 26th Street is huge. For context – the existing house at 513 N 26th shown to the left is one of the biggest homes on the block. It seems it’s going to look very out of place in comparison to the rest of the block.
