Did you know that pet waste one of the top causes of harmful bacteria in our local rivers?

Here’s the Scoop:

FACT: The average-sized dog creates 3/4 lb of poop every day. That means 1,000 dogs produce 750 pounds a week! That’s a lot of harmful bacteria making it into our rivers, streams, and bay. Read more here.

FICTION: Leaving dog poop on your lawn is good for the soil.

FACT: Dog poop is NOT a fertilizer unless it is fully composted
