Stop The Violence Rally in Mosby on Tuesday (UPDATED)

The Mosby Court Tenants Council and the Richmond Tenants Organization are teaming up with community leaders and local elected officials to host the a Mosby-area Stop the Violence Rally on Tuesday, May 12, 2015.

The protest will gather at MLK Middle School at 5 PM, and march to the corner of Coalter and Redd Streets. The rally will commence at 5:30 PM.

The rally is a “protest against the recent wave of violence that is having a devastating impact on not only East End communities but also the entire Richmond region.”

Redd Street and Coalter Street each have a history of violence. Most recently three men were shot on Redd Street last Thursday, one fatally. Previously this year a man was shot to death on Coalter Street in March.

And how does the murder rate in Richmond compare to 10 or 20 years ago?
