Jack, who along with Cubby has become something of a locally-famous cat, had to be put to sleep yesterday.
Kimberly has some words on his passing:
Jack was just a week old when he was discovered in an turpentine soaked rag in a warehouse in the Dominican Republic. He nursed on a cat formula concoction I found on the Internet and he gradually weaned off the bottle to be a real cat!
We made the journey together back to the States and on to Richmond in 2011.
Immediately, he made countless friends while sunning on the 2700 block of E Broad in Church Hill. Jack was curious about absolutely everything (to the point that he went on a 3.5 month walkabout) and had to be a part of whatever was going on. He loved folding over a ladder back chair to try to catch his tail- his game for hours on end.
His favorite toy from the time he was a baby was a miniature raggedy Andy doll, that was with him today as he went to sleep.
Thank you to all for your love and support, especially my wonderful community in Church Hill and the awesome folks at Church Hill Animal Hospital who went the extra mile today. Thanks to you, Jack isn’t stressed and hurting anymore.
