I keep seeing people on cheaply manufactured scooters in the MLK bridge bike lanes and its bumming me out.

I use the MLK bike lane at least 3 times a week on my way from Church Hill to Carytown and it’s great. Yes, you might have to dodge some glass or debris at times, but much better than the heavy traffic on Main or Broad, IMO.

Hi fellow cyclists and bikeway advocates. Here’s a good video from the Federal Highway Administration with lots of examples of groovy bike/walk thoroughfares across the nation: http://www.transportation.gov/fastlane/fhwa-youtube-we-make-walking-biking-safer

Just saw the question re: the MLK bike lane on the Leigh St. bridge and Mosby Court. I’ve never had a problem in that area. I’ve ridden into the city from CH via that route as early as 9 am and come back to CH the same way as late as 9 pm. I have to say that coming back, I’m moving at a good clip by the time I come off the bridge and I don’t loiter! But seriously, I’ve not had any problems at all and that is still my favorite route.
