Deadline extended for apple pie and jam recipe contest

Got a good pie or jam recipe? The folks behind the Urban State Fair at St.Johns (part of the upcoming Fire, Flour, and Fork event) have extended the deadline for the apple pie and jam recipes contest to October 17.

Open to the public, this event, co-sponsored by Bon Secours Health System and The Local Palate, will feature a Cake & Kale Walk, apple pie and jam contests judged by Patrick Henry and George Washington, healthy eats and demos from Bon Secours’ Class-a-Roll mobile kitchen, Edible Education, Tricycle Gardens, Shalom Farms, plus the Indigenous Gourd Orchestra and their gourd petting zoo, among other activities.
