New York’s Broke & Suave features a drink named after the neighborhood:
Allow us to introduce you to the Church Hill Slip n’ Fall — a spin on the classic Jameson and Ginger.
Named after a neighborhood in Richmond, VA, this drink works equally well with some front porch BBQ as it does on a Brooklyn rooftop.

Yeah, this belongs to Allen Skillman. How dare they steal his brain baby.

No John M., This is Allen’s evil creation. Slip n fall comes from “real ne” events in the “522” in Union Hill ????
Credit to Allen has been added to the article. Thanks for letting us know!
Ahem… The ratio is wrong, it’s one ounce shots of each one to make you slip and the other to ensure the fall. It also is best served in a plastic cup because you are sure to have a few of them and the probability of a slip and fall is certain.
straight from the Skillman’s mouth

Love the comment thread on this.“@chpn: The Church Hill Slip n’ Fall http://t.co/OpIOW3WUJR #rvadine (cc: @BrokeandSuave)”
This is awesome recognition. I’m about the bomb the comments with a small writing sample: A Toast to your Neighbor and Neighborhood
I would not call the Broke&Suave article an imitation but the actual events add the details in the drink. The same kind of details that you can get from a craft cocktail blended with brands of liquors and liqueurs that you have never heard of and florals that you had no clue could go right from the garden and onto your rocks.
An afternoon at Patrick Henry’s Pub in Church Hill, Richmond, VA, around the time of happy hour you can find seated regulars looking for some light company and gentle conversation. The conversation which rotates from area politics, the sport of the season and general how-do-you-dos set a stage for one-liners and invention. Everyone knows everyone and if you are new and nice enough, you can know everyone too.
Allen Skillman was at the bar and he is pretty regular with his choices. Half of the time he prefers a Jameson and ginger and the other half a vodka and soda. He will literally drink one, switch to the other and if he has a third it is a toss up. We had just got in the Absolut OrientApple so that was his vodka choice that particular night. I started to pour him a Jameson and Ginger and then he paused and said, “ Throw some of that OrientApple in there and just top it off with some ginger ale.”
He tried it, he liked it. Someone then asked what he would call it. And Allen jokingly replied, “I don’t know, maybe it should be called a Church Hill Slip and Fall.”
Church Hill, a small neighborhood in Richmond City, in my words is a suburb or subdivision without borders. Young, old, single, families, doctors and dishwashers, Church Hill is as much of America that you can stuff into 100 acres. But there is still a true trust here, trust that you can have a night out with friends, old or new and, and if need be Slip, trip and Fall right to your door.
Enjoy your drink and drink one for Allen Skillman, hell, buy him a drink. Trust me, he deserves it.
Church Hill Slip and Fall:
1 pint glass filled with ice
1oz Jameson (Irish Whisky)
1oz Absolut OrientApple
Fill with Ginger Ale
Garnish with Lime
Shake
Enjoy the night! (or day, i’m not judging)

Sham with the win!
Not a bad way to go down in history. And such an eloquent historical recollection (???? Shamoniki), at that!

Does that mean it makes your head hurt in the morning?
There’s another group that think Scotch and Bourbon should only be drunk neat or on the rocks with a splash of water.
