August newsletter from the Church Hill Association

The August newsletter from the Church Hill Association (PDF) is out on doorsteps and the usual spots around the neighborhood.

Includes: call for submissions, letter from CHA President Geoffrey Cooper, online auction to benefit New Hope Rescue, neighborhood flag contest, update from the James River Writers, winners of Allen & Allen HOMETOWN HEROES, a look at the oldest houses in the neighborhood by Eric S. Huffstutler, a call for school supply donations, real estate market news by Jeanne Bridgforth, communications from residents
on the Pear Street project, the Church Hill Historic Plaque Program 2014, CHA 50th Anniversary Holiday Sponsorships, Plein Air in Church Hill, and meeting minutes.

The next CHA Membership Meeting will be Tuesday, August 19, 7:00 PM. This will be a summer picnic meeting at 2617 East Franklin Street, home of CHA Vice-President Tom Wilds & Genni Sasnett.

The “oldest houses” article was actually written last December but after a couple of hiccups, finally able to get it to press. As mentioned I am seeking suggestions for future articles. One is already done for September which was a request by a reader and I also have one planned for October but the combined November/December issue is open. Thanks for all of the kudos I have received concerning my articles and the support of CHA staff each month.
