Friends of Chimborazo will hold its monthly meeting at the Chimborazo Park House, Saturday June 7 at 10:00 AM:
We plan to discuss issues relevant to both the Dog Park and the remainder of the park including park improvements, fundraising, and movie nights.
In addition, Friends of Chimborazo has raised the money required to show The Blues Brother in the Chimborazo Park June 21 and will be paying the licensing fees once all checks are received.
The group has reached out to food trucks and are negotiating with one to come out and vend that evening prior to the movie:
In order to make the food truck happen, Friends of Chimborazo has to guarantee $250 in sales or make up the difference between actual sales and that amount.
The plan is to play Blues Brothers type fun music for at least an hour before the event so as to create a picnic type atmosphere. Before we commit to this plan, we would like to judge community interest.
Right now it is an empanada truck we are negotiating with, and would do different trucks at future events.
Finally, we want to warn people that The Blues Brothers is rated “R” because of language consisting mainly of about a dozen uses of the F-bomb and other lesser swear words. I watched it recently and noted that there is no graphic violence or nudity or any sort.
