Another theft in the same area along Q Street

Following reports of a few recent break-ins in the same area:

Hey, just wanted our neighbors to be aware that some kind individuals decided to hope our 6 ft fence and help themselves to the lawn mower we’ve owned for 2 weeks and used once.

It was right at our back door unchained. You can see where they pushed it through the yard and over the fence. They also emptied out the bag ever so nicely in the ally.

It was early this morning (5/15/14) between 1am and 7:30am at 1100 block of 33rd and Q.

and a stolen mower goes for what? 25$ at most? Clearly these are not the brightest crack head criminals

Generally, I sympathize with people who are struggling with drug addiction (cause really, why else are they stealing things with such low resale value?). But the more of these stories I hear, the more I wish a shipment of Krokodil would hit the streets – or that they would just all OD already.

A few years ago, I had a 20 year old, cheapest-mower-ever-made, POS stolen out of my garage; wasn’t worth the gas that was in it. No matter how high, no one could think it had more than $1 value – but it vanished anyway.

There is a guy that always rides a bike, sometimes walks, and snoops around the alleys, and goes through all the trash. He does this at night and in broad daylight. I’ve seen him at least two dozen times at the trash cans of 33rd, between broad and Marshall. Sometimes he has random things with him. I actually have a video of him doing this, if anyone is interested….

The main thing that really annoys me is he opens trash bags and leaves them open, sometimes he leaves the cans open and trash on the ground.

Is it Illegal to do this?

Maybe Lt. Dan could chime in.

That guy your describing is from the old folks home on the corner of 32 St and clay. Had a talk with with him earlier this year

So in your opinion is this guy capable of these thefts?
