Love hurts

Remember Timothy Covington? nbc12 has the story of how Sector 111’s Lt.Dan caught up with his brother Ryan by catfishing him through OK Cupid:

Officers decided to try something different.

“I set up a profile and her name was Sasha,” Minton recalled.

He made Sasha’s “OkCupid” profile a perfect match for Covington.

“I’m looking to make the world a better place,” the profile read. “I like to work with animals. I’m really good at having a good time and getting people to trust me.”

And trust, it appears, Covington did. The Church Hill man writes in his profile to message him if you “want more than usual.” Sasha and Ryan messaged for about a week, in what became unusual.

***GIT ‘EM LT. DAN!***

Now considering starting a “Lt. Dan’s Fans” club…

Thornley, if you start it I’m joining. I’m not embarassed to admit I have a massive man-crush on Lt. Dan. Rare that we get a cop with a good sense of humor, actual crime fighting skills and passion for the job around here.

It may just be me imagining things but it does seem that he genuinely enjoys his job, which is always refreshing to see from someone in any profession.

On a related note, it’s heartwarming to hear that these dirtbag brothers will be able to spend their holidays together.

@Alex &ALL

Clarification:

“Lt. Dan’s Fans” club is an ENTIRELY hetero-NOT-metro-sexual endeavor whose intentions are to applaud the crime fighting escapades of Lt. Dan Minton.

If there be Ladies &/or Gents who have more amorous feelings towards the Mintonator, you may state your appreciation as such without reserve.

Happy Holidays & Be Safe Neighbors!!

Not only does NBC12 have the story of what Lt. Dan’s done, but it’s on Huffington Post’s front page. Really good for our neighborhood, and good for Lt. Dan, but good for Richmond that it’s not some story about school board members in a brawl: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/18/police-okcupid-arrest-dating-site-fake-profile_n_4468076.html

“I didn’t have that in my wardrobe, so I wore what I’m wearing now.”

Reason number 493 why Lt. Dan completely wins at life.

Thornley, I am not understanding your post, please clarify?

Hetero love/appreciation only?

Not trying to be obstreperous/difficult, am just uncertain as to your intended meaning. Thanks for clarifying:)

@ Clay Street

No confusion intended:

“If there be Ladies >>>&/OR GENTS<<>>you may state your appreciation as such without reserve<<<."

I am not *AT ALL* P.C., so that's all the further clarification I can muster.

In other words, no “massive man-crush” on my end. Absolutely NO pun intended.

So, am I really the only person who thinks this is super-shady?

Thornley,

I don’t think man crush means what you think it does… I’d much rather have a “Sasha” than a “Lt. Dan” show up for a blind date (though I’m quite happy with the lovely Mrs. Alex and am not doing blind dating of any sort these days).

I think it’s funny that I don’t understand even a bit of what this post is about — and I want no clarification, as I think I over-understand too much lately:)

@Alex –

And I as well have a VERY lovely (& I *do* say so) Mrs. Thornley at home. Lord Almighty-Nuff Said.

@Daniel

“Super-Shady” how exactly…? Do your sympathies lie with that poor little weblove crawler Mr. Covington?
