Union Market is on the agenda for the Monday night’s City Council meeting (PDF):

Ord. No. 2013-233 (Patron: Mayor Jones, By Request) – To amend Ord. No. 2006-256-268, adopted Oct. 23, 2006, which authorized the special use of the properties known as 2300 and 2306 Jefferson Avenue for restaurant uses and the construction of an addition to the building, for the purpose of authorizing the sale of beer and wine for off-premises consumption, upon certain terms and conditions.

This would amend the ordinance which originally allowed Jumpin’ J’s to open as a restaurant in the spot and the use of the outside space for dining. The main change is the allowance to sell ABC off-premises, per approval of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
