Lt.Minton’s Sector 111 November report (PDF) is now available. Sector 111 encompasses Church Hill, Chimborazo, Church Hill North, Fulton, Oakwood, and Union Hill:

Violent crime in October was down by 38%. We had 4 robberies. 2 of these were in Greater Fulton, one was in Church Hill North, and the other was in Oakwood.

One of the robberies in Greater Fulton was cleared by arrest. This victim was robbed after meeting some guys to sell some items that were posted on Craigslist. The problem was that the victim meet the suspects at an abandoned house and they robbed him. Please be very careful meeting people to sell them items. Make sure that you know the area you are meeting them and that it is in a public place.

The other robbery in Greater Fulton was of a delivery driver who got a call to deliver pizza to a park at 9:30pm. The robbery in Church Hill North was of the Night and Day market. The robbery in Oakwood was in the 3500 hundred block of E. Richmond Rd. For the year violent crime is down 4% in sector 111.

Property Crime in October was up by 7 crimes from 42 to 49. Burglaries were up by 1 compared to last year. We had 3 burglaries over last weekend. We have arrested 2 juveniles so far and cleared one of these with more to come. Part of the reason these kids were caught is because they were trying to break into another house in the area. This is how they were operating, they send one person to knock on the front door and if no one responds then the others that are in the back will break into the residence. Please keep an eye out for juveniles that are “checking” houses.

The biggest increase we saw was with Theft from Motor Vehicles. This crime went from 5 to 12. The criminals that are committing this type of crime appreciate your continued support. They like the laptops, wallets, and purses that are left in the vehicles. They prefer you to leave your doors unlocked and have the items visible so they don’t have to search too much. I beg you not to leave these items in your cars. This crime accounted for 25% of our property crime.

With Christmas less than 2 months away, I have included some Holiday Crime Preven- tion Tips on page 3. Please keep in mind these tips are not meant to scare you or feel that you need to stay in your house and never leave. They are meant to keep safety at the forefront of your mind and prevent you from becoming a victim.
