Man shot in Creighton

Police were called to the 2200 block of Walcott Place around 1:30 a.m. On scene, police found a man in his mid-20?s in the road. Investigators said the man had been shot.

Richmond Police detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning in the East End.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Walcott Place for a report of a person shot and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital, but died of his injuries a few hours later.

The man has been identified as Larry R. Pittman, 21, of the 2200 block of Walcott Place.

Detectives do not believe this crime is random and are asking for tips from the community.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or text Crime Stoppers by texting 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both methods are anonymous.

This is the 4th killing in the East End this year (/east-end-crime-2013/), and the 10th for Richmond (http://rvanews.com/richmond-homicides-in-13).
