My cat got out somehow and he doesn’t have a collar or anything. He’s so friendly and I’m afraid someone might have picked him up. Will you please post this and have someone contact me if they find him? His name is Battlecat and I live across from The Roosevelt.

May have had a siting tonight. Granted it was dark, so it may be a different cat, but my wife and I saw a similar looking cat in the alley that runs from Cedar to O Street, between North 25th and North 26th. That’s only a block or so from the Roosevelt. It was near a trashcan close to the alley entrance on Cedar. Cat sprinted off before I could even stop the car to confirm. Hope it is Battlecat and this helps you reunite.
1. Put food & water on your porch(es) or in the front and back of your home. Also, put out some item(s) that carry your home’s scent (kitties favorite blanket, toys, a sweater, etc.) Also consider setting up a humane trap (can borrow from your vet or puchase at So. States).
2. Make sure you place a “lost” report w/ photos with Richmond City Animal Control and Henrico Animal Control (eastern Henrico is very close by).
3. Visit local veterinarian offices to place a “lost” report and leave a flyer. While there, check their “found” reports. (e.g., C.H. Animal Hospital, Broad St. Vet Clinic, Cary St. Vet, Fan Vet and Pets-At-Play on 25th).
4. Post a Lost report on Craig’s List/Richmond and at http://www.Petfinders.org. Check same places for “found” reports. On Craig’s List, check Lost & Found section and the Pets section.
5. Visit Richmond Animal Control (1600 Chamberlayne Ave.) to check for your cats – calling is not enough, they deal with too many animals.
6. Put up signs w/ photos & offer a reward;
7. Drop a flyer off at all homes in a 3-4 block radius; in the flyer, ask neighbors to look around in sheds, garages or any outbuildings where cats could hide and possibly be locked inside.
8. Give flyers to all local businesses (especially restaurants); most will allow you to put a flyer in their windows.
9. Go out at night (when it’s quiet) and call to them within 3-4 block radius of your home. Bring a food container that you can shake.
