Coleman seeking re-election for School Board, Smith probably not

While a Richmond Times-Dispatch piece this morning says that the Richmond School Board “will have at least three vacancies to fill with next year’s elections”

Several other School Board members said in recent days that they had not decided whether to stand for re-election.

“I’m thinking about it,” said Chandra Smith of the 6th District. “I probably won’t, but I haven’t made a decision right now.”

[…] School Board members Norma H. Murdoch-Kitt of the 3rd District, Maurice Henderson of the 5th District and Donald L. Coleman of the 7th District said they plan to run again.

The majority of the East End is in the 7th District, represented by Donald Coleman. The area west of Mechanicsville Turnpike (including the area’s middle school) is in the 6th District, represented by Chandra Smith.
