They actually went through the trouble of stenciling the door this time. Maybe a legit one?

Actually Alex Johnson’s Southern Comfort doesn’t have anything to do with Hester”s melting Pot, it is an addition of O.M.G, Me & my family decided to offer up fine dinning and a larger menu to the community so we decided to take over the space to accomidate our customers that comes in groups with their families, we just want our supporters to know we where here for you & your needs and this is one way for us to give back.

Thanks

Wow, that’s about the best possible answer we could have gotten. A fine dining OMG that holds families = AWESOME!!!!

When’s the opening?

Wooo! That is *fantastic*–not for my waistline so much, but in all other respects.

Were gonna do our best to have it done by mid november so we can be prepared for catering for everyone’s thanksgiving holidays event’s at their homes in the area.

Are you going to prepare the food there or bring it over from OMG?

Yes were going to prepare food on the sight of southern comfort & we will definitely be expanding our menu as well, we also plan on offering Virginia wine to compliment our food,we felt that with all the support from our regulars and our new comers who looked passed the brick wall to buy our food week after week this was a grand opportunity for us to give them big window views and more space for them to enjoy with friends and family while not having to drive or walk far from home..

Y’all do know that there is already a southern restaurant, specializing in Virginia wine, like 2 blocks up the street, right?

@8: guess this makes us the epicenter of southern cuisine w/ VA wines in Rva Sounds great to me!

Hopefully this enterprise will be *better* southern food and better service than the place up the street. Ain’t competition grand?

As a fan of both, who happily sat at the bar at one for some hours this evening, I’m going to go out on a limb and say that between the menu differences and shared spirit of community, both these wonderful businesses can thrive. It’s not like having two restaurants that offer Va. wines is a *bad* thing.

We absolutely do, we are very in touch with that other southern restuarant (roosevelt) young lady and they support us 100% on our restaurant , that’s why custumers have choices on what days they patronize what business that’s like some one saying did they know we have. Southern food @ O.M.G but need less to say I’m not here to bring down other business we all are associates and we all patronize each others business..but thanks Sandy for for your question I hope I answered it for you & judging from your energy addressing me as y’all and my name and business is clearly above ; won’t be making any responses…._Everyone stay blessed I can’t wait see you all soon and once again thank you for your supporter!!!!

My husband and I were actually at OMG when Deandre was responding to this. Please correct me if I’m wrong but I believe Antoine, one of OMG’s fine cooks, will be in charge of the show at the new place. In any event, any bit of new eating coming to the Hill is a good one!

Alright, Deandre! Cannot wait to give the new location a try. I asked my question because of the lack of a commercial hood in the new location.

Deandre- I was just wondering if you were looking for any staff, specifically waitstaff for your new venture.

I received such bad service on my first and only visit, today, that I can say nothing but “You’ve not been properly ignorned until you’ve been ignored by the three people working in an empty restaurant called OMG”.
