Like BBQ? Hogtober 2011 is Saturday

If you’ve been missing the 30-year tradition of a barbeque festival in historic Church Hill, you will be tickled hog pink with this NEW fall BBQ festival, HOGTOBER, produced and run by Style Weekly benefiting the Church Hill Association. We’re bringing back all your favorites to the hill: smoking hot barbecue, foot-stomping bands, and your favorite golden beverages.

The Tradition that Was, High On the Hog, celebrated by Richmonders in historic Church Hill on Libby Hill Park, was a celebration of good neighbors and good cheer. Organized and run by the friends and families in the Church Hill neighborhood, High On the Hog ended on a “high” note in 2006. The new festival, HOGTOBER is not affiliated with the High On the Hog originators.

Style Weekly and the Church Hill Association have partnered together to create HOGTOBER, which will bring BBQ and local music back to the Hill while including new, family friendly aspects that reflect the new mix of residents of the neighborhood today.
