The Princess Bride at Chimbo Park this Saturday

Richmond Firefighters Association Local 995 Presents The Princess Bride in Chimborazo Park Saturday 9/17/11.

Movie is shown by the pavilion in the back of the park, next to the Statue of Liberty. Movie night is arranged and organized by Friends of Chimborazo Park. Movie starts at dark (between 7 and 7:30). Come early and picnic!

Since this event is held in a city park, it is important to remember that all standard park regulations apply, including a prohibition of alcohol. While movie night is free for all, donations will be accepted to help defray costs of future movie nights.

Please tell your friends and encourage them to come. We want this to be a BIGevent so we can show our sponsors that it is worth funding next year.

The fire department might have a truck there for kids to learn about. It depends on availability that night.

That’s great! Thanks so much to the Firefighters for sponsoring this movie and to the organizers for all their hard work to keep movies in the park going! It’s such a great event for the neighborhood. We like to invite friends from the burbs who always have a great time. Question: If someone can’t make it, but wants to donate to help with future movie nights, whom should they contact?

FIRE TRUCKS. FIRE TRUCKS. FIRE TRUCKS.

Yes, unless they are out on a call, the sponsor is going to have fire trucks present and try to put on a safety demo for neighborhood children before the movie.

Any idea if it is still happening since it rained today? If so do we need to bring our own seating?

Last nights sponsor, the fire department, wanted everyone to know that they are available of a host of neighborhood services, including baby seat inspections, and free smoke detectors. They also will drop by birthday parties and give safety presentations.

Heck, I might have them at my next birthday!
