House of Homemade opening in the next few weeks

I am one of the owners of House of Homemade. We will be opening in the next couple of weeks at 2707 East Marshall Street in Church Hill and we are very excited! We love this community and everyone has been so warm and welcoming when they stop by to check in on us.

I wanted to let everyone know what we will be offering and what they can look forward to when we open our doors.

We are VERY passionate about good homemade food that is good for you and prepared naturally – free of harmful chemicals, additives and unnatural ingredients. You can expect great homemade baked goods, fresh baked bread, signature sandwiches, delicious salads, homemade ice cream, organic/local produce and grocery and so much more…

We are finishing some last minute details and will annouce soon the exact date the doors will open.

See you Soon!
Kimmy:)

Fantastic news!

Just guessing, but I wonder if this “Kimmy” is the same Kimmy who works at Globerhopper. If so, we are in for an awesome treat!

This is great news. I grew up here, and even though the Quik Check (now Captain Buzzy’s) had some really scary looking veggies, it had some veggies. I’ve been ranting about the need for something more like a corner store for years. This sounds great!

I bet the ice cream is more reasonable pricewise than It Must Be Heaven. Yay! Plus fresh bread and veggies! It just keeps getting better and better on the hill. Kimmy is in touch with what the peple want.

Personally I hoping they would have leaned more towards the baked goods. Hoped for some fresh hot homemade doughnuts 🙂 But having any legitimate business on the corner is a plus and hope that someone would have an open mind about Charlie Johnson’s building catty-corner from it and open something that compliments this.

The old building is still under spot blight proceedings and gutted though I have been seeing some construction activity on the second floor… not sure what their motives are?

Kimmy Certa from GlobeHopper and Mother Bars here. I am not the Kimmy who is opening House of Homemade but there is room for more than one awesome Kimmy in Church Hill. I wish her luck!!

Dropped by for lunch and groceries today. This is just what we needed around here! They are open 8-8 and have a nice selection of good healthy foods, produce, sandwiches and sweets. Very friendly server and the sandwich was awesome. We’ll be doing a lot of our produce shopping there and it’s good to have a place that carries Flour Garden bread for sale.
