Windows shot out on Broad, 26th Street
09/18/2010 10:08 AM by John M
A reader sends in word of some overnight activity:
Just wanted to pass along that last night between 1-2am someone drove around E Broad and 26th street shooting out car windows with a BB gun. The policeman said he thought it was about 6-8 cars.
TAGGED: crime
WTF? Why do people insist on damaging the property of others? This was only like a block away from me. Luckily, our vehicles were spared. I feel sorry for the victims who probably awoke to find their cars damaged.
There is a minivan on 22nd between Broad and Grace with shattered windows as well. Not sure if it is related.
I think there are cameras on the outside of the Suntrust Bank building, at the corner of Broad and 25th. I wonder if the footage captured by those cameras will reveal anything…maybe a license plate number or vehicle description.
That van is my neighbors, I live on the corner of 22nd & Grace and we heard the shots at 11:10pm (sounded like a real gun) and called the police, which showed up in under 2 mins but they where long gone by then.
It was definitely a powerful BB gun.
Looks like the new apartment development by McDonalds was hit too. I drove by this morning and saw at least one window shot on the East Marshall side. F#@^ing idiots.
Actually, the police told one of my neighbors when they came about his car (which had been shot up) that a total of about ten were shot up at 26th and Broad. Also, had a car entered but nothing taken at 26th and Broad over the weekend.
