Asbury MC’s 167th Homecoming Celebration is Sunday

The Asbury United Methodist Church 2010 Homecoming Street Festival will be held this coming Sunday (Sep.12) from noon-4:30PM at Asbury UMC (324 North 29th Street):

The celebration is planned as a street festival where neighboring streets around N. 29th Street will be blocked off to accommodate the events including entertainment of all kinds – gospel singing, bands, spoken word, jugglers, praise dancers-prizes, face-painting, free food, and much more.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to support the inclusion of a Communities in School (CIS) staff person at Chimborazo Elementary School for the 2010-2011 school year. It is a part-time position with a part-time salary tag of $26,000. With the assistance of other churches in the community and the Church Hill Civic Association donation, we are certain that we will achieve our element of the financial support needed to make this possible. Donations of $2.00 or more will be accepted at the entrance of the festival or you can make an online donation of $5.00 or more.

Sounds like a great event. The online donation wasn’t working when I checked it out. Rev. Heckstall, you may want to look into.
