We live a block away from the cemetery and no shots were heard by the neighbors that I’ve talked to. May have just been dumped.

I don’t have any information about this murder, per se, but (also while downtown today) I ran across a long-time resident of Richmond who grew up with the victim. He says Mr. Jefferson was a bully who had been pushing people around his whole life and that someone likely just got sick of it. He agreed that the body was also likely left there. That’s just hearsay and is of little value, but I thought I’d pass it along just the same.

From this morning’s RTD:

In the graveyard, police discovered the body of Tyree Jerard Jefferson Jr., 39. Jefferson, a cook at Touch of Soul restaurant in Shockoe Bottom, last had been seen the evening before, when he left work intending to go play basketball, according to Rasin and the owner of the restaurant, Ty Goins.

They described Jefferson, known by friends as “Sweets,” as a hard worker with a passion for cooking.
