Church Hill Irish Festival

@25th and Broad Streets – The festival will begin Saturday at 10AM with a walking parade to include traditional Irish music and dancing. The celebration will continue with a street festival in front of St. Patrick’s Church on North 25th Street between Broad and Franklin Streets.

Libby Hill Park Mulch Day

Friends of Libby Hill Park and Church Hill Planters invite everyone to help spread mulch! Come for an hour or all morning, then take a break with free coffee, delicious soups, sandwiches, and cookies.

Shop Richmond Weekend Kick-Off

On March 19-21, 2010, join Shop RVA in shopping at only locally owned businesses.This support will promote these companies and give them a chance to show the city of Richmond what they offer. March 20th is your chance to meet Shop RVA members (Local businesses, volunteers, and nonprofits) in person during Shop Richmond Weekend. This is an opportunity to become more familiar with our campaign and meet business owners and learn about the benefits of Shopping Richmond. Anniversary Reenactment

Join us for the 235th anniversary of reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775. In the presence of Washington, Jefferson, and other notable Virginians, Patrick Henry delivered his passionate call for liberty, uttering the immortal words, “Give me liberty or give me death!” Free and open to the public. City Council Formal Meeting

Mon Mar 22 6:00 pm
Every 2nd and 4th Mon – Responsible for deciding official Council action, which includes discussing, adopting, rejecting, and amending laws and approving the budget. Formal meetings include a time for pubic comment and are televised live on the local PBS station and are replayed in Richmond on Government Access Channel 17, beginning at Noon and 7:00 p.m. daily.

Typically the second and forth Monday of each month; 6:00-8:30 p.m. (With the exception of August, when no Formal meetings are held, and holidays)

Open Mic @ Poe’s

Veggie Bus

The veggie bus will be parked at 25th and Broad on Tuesdays from 10AM untill 2:30PM and then the NRC on Williamsburg Road in Fulton from 3PM until 6PM, and on Wednesdays at 25th and Broad again from 11am till 7pm starting Jan 6th.

We will always be at Libby Hill Park each Thursday from 4-6pm for our CSA drop off.

We have collards kale creasy greens apples potatoes winter squash sausage BBQ chicken eggs milk cheese butter yogurt cider maple syrup apple butterand more so come support local farmers and get healthy goods, too.

Beginning-ish Gardeners Workshop @ Chimbo Community Garden

Backyard Farmers will be conducting a workshop covering soil health and amendments, planting, watering, bed management, row cover, cold frames, and other tips for successful gardening at the new Tricycle Community Garden @ Chimbo Playground Park. Cost: $20 plus optional materials (you can build a cold frame or hoop house, get seeds or seedlings, etc.)
