house by f33.
Still standing as of this morning, 1211 North 26th Street was listed as being up for demolition just about a year ago.
This probably provides good shelter for many of our homeless people or at least a crackhead. We should save this part of Americana.
City’s torn down similar houses on that block. Lovely one went last year that had a porch that wrapped around two sides. Pity.
This old house once knew my children,
This old house once knew my wife,
This old house once knew the laughter and the winds and storms of life.
This old house may need a LOT of work but looks to be in better shape than the leaning tower of dilapidation at 22nd and Marshall! Any reason why this hasn’t been cited for salvage and renovation? Is the HRF aware of it?
As a friend of mine who has traveled the world said… “only in America do we tear down our old buildings”. Meaning that other places in the world, especially Europe, have houses centuries old and still occupied.
Just as an update, the “leaning tower of dilapidation at 22nd and Marshall” had activity, today. Looks like work has begun.
Where is Coco these days? Or is this too far for her to walk to? Does anyone else remember her? She hung on Mosby Street, was using a house there as a base of operations for her … er….business. That house on Mosby has since undergone a nice renovation, hence she might have had to move her … office.
Bill that’s great news about 22nd & Marshall.
You know the owner phone number is listed in the white pages. Why hasn’t she tried to sell it through ACORN option program?
Too bad more people don’t use that program.
