@ EDI (25th & M Streets … On the agenda are the City of Richmond’s Five-Year Consolidated Plan (which has to do with the city’s CDBG funding from the federal government) and the opening of a Montessori School at 323 North 20th Street.

Hickory Hill Community Center (3000 East Belt Blvd)
This free one-day workshop is designed to inform citizens, realtors, owners, buyers, contractors, neighbors, architects, engineers, and developers regarding the requirements of and issues relating to vacant building ownership.

Tricycle Gardens, a non-profit organization that promotes community gardening, holds a “Grow Your Own” celebration at the Eric Schindler Gallery, 2305 E. Broad St. Anyone interested in starting a community garden is invited to attend. Admission, which includes music and food, is $25. RSVP by Oct. 12 to 231-7767.
