Someone fired nine shots into a home at the corner of R Street and Oakwood Avenue at around 4:30AM Monday morning.
A Church Hill family is alive after someone fired nine shots into their home at the corner of R Street and Oakwood Avenue. It was around 4:30 Monday morning. Robert Brown and his wife, Julia, were asleep in their bed when the shots started coming.
One after another the bullets ripped through their living room and bedroom. Shots hit the dresser, the new recliner and the TV. Neither the Browns, nor the children inside were hurt.
Robert Brown says he has lived in the home for 51 years and this is the first time he’s been a victim of violence at his home. The family doesn’t know who fired the shots or why.
“Everything’s been going sweet,” says Brown. The police asked him: “Do you have enemies?” He told them, “No, not that I know of. We’ve never had any arguments or anything with anybody.”
Police are still searching for suspects in the shooting.
