Captain Buzzy’s is now open!

Capt. Buzzy’s, a coffeehouse and cafe, opened yesterday at 27th and Broad streets, a block west of the Hill Cafe.

Capt.Buzzy’s features fresh-baked goods, a small lunch fare, ice cream, a soup bar and breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Coffee beans are roasted on premises.

From a richmond.com article from last February, Bob Buffington, president of The Ugly Mug Coffee & Tea at The Market, says, “Church Hill is a great neighborhood that just cried out for a coffeehouse. Captain Buzzy’s will use the flavor of the neighborhood to create an atmosphere of when coffeehouses were the place where neighbors met. […[ But we’re going to take it to a different level,” he said, by maintaining the feeling of a great Church Hill home complete with kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

With the opening of Jumpin J’s back in August, the Church Hill area is really starting to move.
