Applications being accepted for East End Back-to-School Extravaganza

Applications are available through Aug. 23 for participation in the 13th Annual East End Minister’s, City of Richmond, Richmond Public Schools Citywide Back-to-School Extravaganza, Parade, Rally, Revival and Pageant. Needed are parade participants, Step teams, youth gospel groups, R&B singers, dancers and more.

The parade and rally is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 28 and the revivals Aug. 23-26, starting at Chimborazo Park at 32nd and Broad Street at 10 a.m. and concluding at the 8th and Leigh street parking lot.

The parade will proceed west on Broad to N. 25th St., turn right onto 25th and proceed north to Fairmount Avenue, turn left onto Fairmount and proceed west to Mosby Street, left onto Mosby to the Martin Luther King Bridge, across the bridge to 8th and Leigh.

The Youth Gospel Talent Showcase is Aug. 22. A new addition this year is the Miss/Mr. Capital City Pageant, Aug. 21, for rising high school juniors and seniors attending a Richmond public high school.
