City council tonight, at their last meeting of the summer, approved rezonign for Union Hill, adopted the final amendments to the Downtown Master Plan, and agreed to purchase the Lehigh Cement property on Dock Street.
The City Planning Commission at their bi-weekly meeting today unanimously approved Ordinance 2009-135 (PDF) which seeks to rezone the bulk of Union Hill to R-63 Multifamily Urban Residential and UB Urban Business. The Commission also voted unanimously in support of Ordinance 2009-153 to authorize the aquisition of the Lehigh Cement property at 3111 Water Street [...]
There will be a public meeting to discuss the zoning and Master Plan land use recommendations for the St.John’s, Church Hill North, and Chimborazo areas on Thursday, July 30th at 6PM at the East District Initiative building (25th&M Street).
The Planning Commission yesterday voted in favor of raising the heights allowed for development along the river and also in favor of rezoning the interior of Union Hill to R-63.
