Overcrowding at Woodville Elementary

The RTD’s A real space challenge presents overcrowded Woodville Elementary as an example of what can come of closing schools without building new ones. Woodville absorbed more than 100 children after Whitcomb Court Elementary School closed in 2006, and currently serves 573 students in a building with space for 530.

All neighborhoods schools accredited

The State Department of Education today released the data on the School Accreditation Status for 2007-2008. All of the neighborhood schools are designated as Fully Accredited except for Martin Luther King Middle School which is designated Accredited with Warning, with the warning coming in history (having met the benchmarks in both math and English).

Woodville receives Dominion Educational Partnership Grant

Woodville Elementary has been awarded a $3,000 Dominion Educational Partnership Grant for the 2007-2008 school year.
