Predicting the 7th District School Board race…

As a follow-up to our mayoral poll back in August, here are the results of a (certainly very unscientific) poll of the support for each of the 3 school board candidates…

a last round of politicking

Bellevue Elementary and the Church Hill Association hosted a sparsely attended forum for the 7th District School Board candidates this evening. Edmonds stands with Green, Goldman to support Patrick Henry Initiative

Mayoral candidate Paul Goldman, 7th district school board candidate Torey Edmonds, and Antione M. Green (president of the Richmond Crusade for Voters) made a joint appearance yesterday to show support for the Patrick Henry Initiative. From the RTD:

Edmonds, who is black, said parents in her community are looking for something better than they are getting from the city’s public schools. “On the one hand, you can’t be unhappy with the school system and on the other hand shut the door to opportunities,” Edmonds said after the news conference in front of the former Patrick Henry Elementary School.

Mayor’s Roundtable for September

Not to be confused with McQuinn’s 7th District Roundtable on 9/22 previously announced, the next Mayor’s Roundtable for the 7th District has been set for Tuesday, September 18, at the EDI building from 7-9PM. The topic will be the Richmond School Board, with the honorable Keith West, 7th District School Board Member, participating in the discussion. Former School Board Member Reggie Malone and Torey Edmonds, community liaison, will also be part of the discussion.
