Highwoods walks away from Shockoe Center, Boulevard proposals

The RTD is reporting that the Shockoe Center proposal is dead: Developers of the proposed Shockoe Center ballpark announced this afternoon that they’re walking away from the project as well as a proposal for development along the Boulevard.

CHA meeting moved to St.John’s Church

The February 17th Church Hill Association meeting, normally held at the St. John’s Parish Hall, is moved to St. John’s Church to accomodate the expected larger-than-normal attendance given the scheduled discussion of the proposed Shockoe Center development. Also, Betty Squire, the newly appointed City Council 7th District Representative, is expected to be at the meeting.

Poll shows increasing support for baseball in Shockoe

A recent snapshot poll on this site, taken across the end of the 1st week of February, has 75% of the respondents are in favor of development that includes baseball in Shockoe Bottom.
