Fight leads to arrests, lockdown at Armstrong
This video is just in from the scene of Armstrong High School, where a fight has led to the arrest of multiple students. Dozens of police officers responded to the scene just after 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. As of 12:00 p.m., the school was still on lockdown.

Armstrong lags behind in 4-year graduation rate
According to the VDOE Report Card for the school (PDF), only 50% of Armstrong HS students graduate after 4 years. Franklin Military graduates 94% after 4 years (PDF). These numbers compare to 59% for all of RPS (PDF) and 86% statewide.
Education Celebration at NRC
At the Neighborhood Resource Center of Greater Fulton, we are having an Education Celebration! On October 15 at 11am, we are gathering for lunch to discuss the state of education in our community and how we can all band together to help the kids get the most out of our schools.
All of the neighborhood schools are accredited for 2011-2012
The VDOE announced today that all of the Richmond Public Schools in the East End are accredited, though Armstrong HS is labeled as “Accredited with Warning”.
RPS sets rezoning meetings
Richmond Public Schools officials will hold a public meeting on October 4 6:30PM at Chimborazo Elementary (3000 East Marshall Street) to receive community input on the district’s school rezoning process.
