double take on Que Pasa
Que Pasa gets reviewed both in today’s RTD and on richmond.com. The RTD piece isn’t positive and says that Que Pasa “has much more potential than is currently realized”. In contrast,richmond.com’s take ends with “while Church Hill residents may want to keep this charming Latin American bistro to themselves, it’s worthy of becoming a destination for all Richmond diners.”

Style comes to Que Pasa; Patrick Henry Grill and Pub on the way
Style Weekly has a piece on Que Pasa which looks at the food (”real slow-cooked goodness”) and the different hurdles that the restaurant has had to overcome to even open the doors. In other news, a sign that reads “Patrick Henry Grill and Pub coming soon” has sprouted on the location formerly known as Acapella.

Combined Friends of Jefferson Park/Union Hill Civic Association meeting set for 7/30
A joint meeting of the Friends of Jefferson Park and Union Hill Civic Association has been set for July 30 @7PM. Meet at Qué Pasa, at the intersection of 25th and M, to learn about the status of owner John Sanchez’s application for a special use permit. Other items on the agenda may include an update on the proposed rezoning of 1903 East Marshall Street and a report on the first meeting of the exploratory committee looking into the possibility of a Union Hill Old & Historic District.

The long-anticipated restaurant now named Que Pasa?, at 25th and M Streets, is ready open but is being held up by the city. They are asking for your support: stop by and sign the petition, and contact the city to let them know of your support.

One day the old fishmarket at 25th and M Streets will be a restaurant tentatively named The Five Points Grill. The future a vision of John Sanchez, the site is right now a dusty behive of activity.

restoration reveals old Bromo-Seltzer sign
Removal of the stucco from the former fish market at 25th and M Streets has uncovered an old Bromo-Seltzer sign.
