Nonesuch Place: A History of the Richmond Landscape by T.Tyler Potterfield, Oregon Hill resident and a planner with the City of Richmond Department of Community Development, was published this month by The History Press. Potterfield has written a fantastic little book that presents a facet of Richmond history in a new and cohesive fashion.

Fairmount historic resource survey Q&A at EDI

Recently, the Fairmount neighborhood was surveyed towards possible registration as a National Historic District. 50 folks or so turned out tonight for a follow-up Q&A to discuss the results so far.

Richmond’s Disappearing History

ACORN held a seminar, Richmond’s Disappearing History, yesterday at the the Library of Virginia. The 3 hour seminar covered interesting Richmond buildings that have been lost, buildings that are now in danger of being torn down, why these buildings matter, and some of how the city approaches vacant and decrepit building stock.
