Inner City Blues and Lower 48 represent!

From the Richmond Black Restaurant Experience:

March 4th-11th 2018, all roads lead to Richmond, VA as restaurateurs are busily preparing to showcase their culinary creations for this year’s Richmond Black Restaurant Experience, presented by Dominion Energy.

Representing our area are:

Inner City Blues Home of Carolina Barbecue

Located at 3015 Nine Mile Road, this take out place is well reviewed in Yelp with the ribs and coleslaw described as wonderful, delicious and well-seasoned. For you foodie adventurers, here’s a couple reviews from Yelp:

If you want real authentic North Carolina barbecue you have to give them a try! They mince the barbecue and make it a special way. This is a take out only spot I would call ahead and order before you get there so you don’t have to wait! The ribs fall off of the bone no exaggeration and the potato salad is slamming.

First of all please do not let the location deter you from dining here. When I say I dogged in so quickly that I didn’t even get a picture!! I had the pork chop sandwich with Mac n cheese with a sweet tea. Let’s just say o dang neat burned my mouth I was eating so fast. The pork chop was her well seasoned, the staff friendly and the service is swift! I will definitely be back.

Lower 48

Located at 423 N. 18th St, this “Rustic Regional American” restaurant is home to a former Food Network Star and The Baltimore Sun’s best new chef, Malcolm Mitchell. Here are some of the reviews:

This is by far some of the best food I have ever have in such a casual looking place. Plated great and tasted great. I like the casual atmosphere with the music playing in the background.

My son and I went in for an early Friday dinner and we’re so glad we picked Lower 48! The staff was so friendly and service was quick for a from scratch kitchen. They were on top of their game. The fried chick peas, I seriously cannot say enough good things about this. They were full of flavor from the house butter and herbs, and the presentation was amazing!
