Situated next to the Post Office on 25th St Frontier is a restaurant that has been under construction for several years now. However, as the saying goes, good things come to those that wait and the wait is finally over.
I had a moment to catch up with Juliette Highland to learn a little bit about this new offering. She let me know that she and her partner, Christopher Davis, have been working on this project for several years and are very excited about the opening.
Frontier is now open Tue-Sun at 5p for dinner only. They have plans to expand hours as they get settled to be a late-night spot and even open for lunch.
If you’ve been to The Alamo BBQ before some of the food will be familiar to you. It’s Texas style bbq with a southwest flair. Pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket, etc. and new options like rotisserie chicken, mesquite-smoked sausage, BBQ nachos, and a lot more.
Frontier offers a full bar but they don’t have any beers on tap at the moment (only bottles and cans) but that is coming soon.
They have seating for about 50 including the bar.

Any menus available to post?
They posted the menu to their instagram yesterday. It is essentially the same menu as Alamo. The post says they will add more in the future. I had higher hopes than for Frontier to simply be a sit down version of Alamo only 3 blocks away from Alamo. I wish they had brought something different to the neighborhood. But I suppose they didn’t have the confidence to take that risk. I’m sure it is daunting to inject all that money into the renovation and they just felt they had to take the safest route to recoup their investment.
The Nachos, with brisket, are great!
