Newbille, McQuinn, and McClellan get the nod

Initial reports from the VA State Board of Elections and city’s results had it right: Cynthia Newbille will be the new City Council 7th District representative, and that Delores McQuinn and Jennifer McClellan will return to the House of Delegates.

Election Guide 2009

In addition to the state-wide races, on November 3rd voters in the East End will be electing a new city council representative for the 7th District and selecting a House of Delegates representative for either the 70th or the 71st districts. Also on the ballot will be uncontested races for Commonwealth’s Attorney, Sherif, and Treasurer.

Lewis picks up WCLM endorsement

City Council 7th District candidate Deanna Lewis appeared on WCLM 1450AM this past Wednesday and took calls on Echo Harbor, vacant houses, Fulton Bottom, development in Shockoe Bottom, racial barriers, graffiti, affordable housing, the Church Hill Reunion, and more, and in the process picked up the endorsement of WCLM owner Preston Brown.
