The man, shot in one shoulder, was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment of injuries that police said were not life-threatening. Authorities said the shooting occurred shortly after 11 p.m. on Parker Street, near the Darbytown Road intersection, during what may have been an attempted robbery.

Man grazed by stray bullet off Mechanicsville Turnpike

The victim was in a car with several other people, driving in the 2700 block of Ford Avenue when shots were fired, according to investigators. The car kept going until the victim complained his head hurt, and they realized he had been shot, and called police from the 1900 block of Raven Street.
