Man shot on Coalter Street

A yet-unidentified man in his late-20s was shot in the abdomen “just before 2:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Coalter Street” in Mosby Court. Richmond police spokesman James Mercante says that the man’s injuries are “not considered life-threatening”. This is the second shooting on Coalter Street in 10 days.

Shooting on Coalter Street

Two men were robbed blocks apart last night by an unknown gun-wielding male. The victim in the 2nd incident, on Coalter Street, was shot during the robbery but his injuries are not life threatening.

Apartment fire on Coalter Street

A dramatic early-morning apartment fire got things jumping today on Coalter Street: At least 19 people suffered minor injuries in a Richmond apartment fire in the 1300 block of Coalter Street Wednesday. Fire officials arrived on scene just after 8:30 a.m. with heavy flames showing from a basement apartment building.

Woman shot twice in the neck on Coalter Street

An argument yesterday evening in the 1300 block of Coalter Street led to a 25-year-old woman getting shot twice in the neck. The victim is at VCU Medical Center “with life-threatening injuries”. [via]

Kente A. Adams, 18, was killed shortly after 5:20am Satruday morning in the 1500 block of Coalter Street in Mosby Court. [via]

Man given 2 years for shooting

The RTD is reporting that Daniel Raymon Mills was sentenced yesterday to 10 years in prison, with eight years suspended, for the May 15 shooting death of Kevin Lamont Holmes. Holmes was killed about 3:45 pm in the Fairhills Apartments complex in the 1300 block of Coalter Street.

Fire damages 10 apartments

A fire early Sunday morning damaged 10 apartments at the Fair Hill Apartment Complex in the 1300 block of Coalter Street, behind Martin Luther King Middle School.
