TONIGHT: Mayor’s Neighborhood Roundtable Meeting for 7th District
The Mayor’s Neighborhood Roundtable Meeting for 7th District is tonight at 6pm at East District Center (701 North 25th Street). The goal of the meeting is to establish a means to provide grass-roots community feedback to the City Administration. Meet and share your concerns, ideas and vision with the 7th District Roundtable Representative, Sharon Burton.

The city has announced a new plan for keeping the neighborhoods in the loop called the Neighborhood Roundtable, to consist of one representative from each of the nine council districts. The rep for District 7 is Sharon Burton.

about the power outage last night…
About 1,800 Dominion Virginia Power customers lost power last night when a truck hit a utility pole at Bloom Lane and Mechanicsville Turnpike about 7 pm. Because the 45-foot pole had to be replaced, about 130 customers did not get their power back until around midnight. [via]

Al-Qadaffi innocent in Dec. shooting
The murder charge against VCU student Omari Al-Qadaffi in the shooting death of a Lawarren Arkeis Williams on December 10th was withdrawn after authorities determined Al-Qadaffi acted in self-defense. [via]

Metropolitan Richmond at Prayer this Thursday
This Thursday marks the celebration and opening rally of “Metropolitan Richmond at Prayer,” an areawide union of souls that has been more than a year in the making. The 10 a.m. ceremony will be staged at Richmond Hill.

Crime Prevention Academy info
The RPD’s Crime Prevention Academy is a free nine-hour program that covers a wide range of law enforcement topics, with an emphasis on crime prevention and the many police resources that are available to the public. shooting at 21st and Clay
